Connecting Corporate IT and Its Mobile Clients An Intermediate Solution
نویسندگان
چکیده
We propose an architecture for allowingmobile hosts to connect to a corporate IT system via a limited access network. The connection is made through a Mobile Host Support System that makes the mobile host appear to the central system as just another xed client. The MHSS not only helps mitigate \mobility" problems such as disconnections, limited bandwidths and security, but also assists the mobile user by allowing o -line processing. This architecture is an intermediate step toward building mobile support directly into corporate computing systems.

Towards Wifi Mobility without Fast Handover
WiFi is emerging as the preferred connectivity solution for mobile clients because of its low power consumption and high capacity. Dense urban WiFi deployments cover entire central areas, but the one thing missing is a seamless mobile experience. Mobility in WiFi has traditionally pursued fast handover, but we argue that this is the wrong goal to begin with. Instead, we propose that mobile clie...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of MAC Protocols for Location-Independent End-to-end Delay in Multi-hop Wireless Mesh Networks
Backbone wireless mesh networks (WMNs) are emerging alternatives to conventional wired backbones for metropolitan and have attracted much attention from both academic and industrial world as an infrastructure network for realizing the ubiquitous computing environment. WMN is a generalization of Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks that considers the use of heterogeneous nodes (e.g., clients and routers) an...
متن کاملSecure Incentives to Cooperate for Wireless Networks
The operating principle of certain wireless networks makes essential the cooperation between the mobile nodes. However, if each node is an autonomous selfish entity, cooperation is not guaranteed and therefore we need to use incentive techniques. In this thesis, we study cooperation in three different types of networks: WiFi networks, Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs), and Hybrid Ad-hoc networks. C...
متن کاملAn Architecture for Mobile Databases
The use of mobile computers is gaining popularity. The number of users with laptops and notebooks is increasing and this trend is likely to continue in the future where the number of mobile clients will far exceed the number of traditional xed clients. Applications running on mobile clients download information by periodically connecting to repositories of data. Mobile clients constitute a new ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Using Mobile apps on the Acquisition of Conditional Sentences among Iranian Intermediate EFL Learners
Nowadays, there has been an increasing interest in the integration of technology in pedagogical purposes. This study was an attempt to delve in to the impact of a mobile application (Cushy Grammar) on the learning of conditional sentences (type1, 2 and 3) among Iranian intermediate EFL learners in Rooyesh institute in Isfahan. To this end, a group of 75 intermediate EFL learners were non-random...
